Surah Al An'aam Notes (43-45)

(43)Then why, when Our punishment came to them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened, and Satan made attractive to them that which they were doing.

(44)So when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We opened to them the doors of every [good] thing until, when they rejoiced in that which they were given, We seized them suddenly, and they were [then] in despair.

(45)So the people that committed wrong were eliminated. And praise to Allah , Lord of the worlds.

(6:43) ....but their hearts became hard.... (their hearts are not soft or humble)
....Satan made attractive to them that which they were doing... (shirk, defiance and rebellion)

(6:44) When the disbelievers ignored and turned away from the Message which came to them, Allah opened the gates of provision for them from wherever they wished, so that Allah deceives them. When they are in midst of their enjoyment (wealth, children and provision) all of a sudden they are plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrow.

(6:45) The people who transgressed were eliminated from their roots. It becomes a reason to rejoice and show gratitude towards Allah when the oppression by the transgressors has been eliminated from its roots completely.
